Unfortunately, the wicked stepmother found out what the princess had done and she became very angry. She decided to steal the necklace from the cabinet and curse her own daughter. The wicked stepmother became even more wicked when she found out that the necklace wouldn't work on her daughter because she had already lost her true happiness. She then cursed the princess with a spell that would cause her to forget everything about the necklace and what made her happy.
Now the princess was sad and lost. She had no memories of her beautiful garden or the special cabinet where she found the necklace. But then one day, she happened to look into a magic mirror and she saw her mother's face looking back at her with love and happiness. Suddenly, all of her lost memories came flooding back. She knew what she had to do: find the necklace, put it back on, and let it take away her dark shadow forever.
