"It's truly an honor and a privilege to be here today amongst so many greats. I'm humbled by the recognition and grateful for the opportunity to share my story and my passion for the game of basketball.
I grew up in a small town in China, and basketball was my way out. It gave me a chance to see the world, to learn, to grow, and to give back. It taught me about teamwork, about sacrifice, about perseverance, and about the power of belief in oneself. It's taught me about leadership, about patience, and about unwavering optimism. And it's taught me to appreciate the beauty of this sport that I love so much.
My journey has been far from easy, but I've learned that failure is just the stepping stone to success. Each and every time I fell down, I got back up, and I kept going. I've learned that success is not measured by what you achieve, but by how you handle failure. And I've learned that the true test of character is not in how you play when you're winning, but in how you respond when things don't go your way.
So here I am today, standing on the stage of the Basketball Hall of Fame, and it's humbling to know that my journey is not over yet. The journey is not just about the destination; it's about the journey itself. And as long as there is breath in my body, basketball will be a part of it.
To all the young people out there who are dreaming big, never give up on yourselves. Believe in your abilities, believe in your dreams, and believe in the power of teamwork and unity. Keep pushing forward, keep striving for your goals, and never let anyone define your success by your failures.
