Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Alice who loved to play in the woods. One day, she went exploring and found a small path that led into the forest. She followed the path for a while and came to a clearing with a beautiful lake.
She sat on a rock and admired the lake, when suddenly, she saw a small creature swimming towards her. It had a long nose and big eyes, and it was wearing a green cap with a top hat. The little girl was so surprised that she couldn't speak for a moment.
The creature waved at her and smiled, then hopped onto the rock next to her. He introduced himself as a small dragon named William who lived in the lake. He explained that he had been hiding from some larger dragons who wanted to eat him. Alice felt sorry for him and offered to help.
Over the next few days, Alice and William became best friends. They spent their days exploring the forest, playing hide-and-seek in the trees, and swimming in the lake. Alice taught William how to avoid being seen by the larger dragons, and William taught her how to use her imagination and have fun in the woods.
One day, Alice's parents found out she was missing and came to search for her. They found Alice and William playing together in the woods and were so happy to see their daughter having so much fun. They decided to keep William as their new pet and protector of the forest.
From then on, Alice and William lived a happy life together in the woods, playing, learning, and protecting their new home.
