龜兔賽跑故事英文

龜兔賽跑的故事英文版:

The Tortoise and the Hare Race

The story goes like this:

One day, the cunning little tortoise (烏龜) decided to challenge the speedy little rabbit (兔子) to a race. The rabbit was confident of his speed and thought he would easily win the race.

"Sure, I'll race you anytime," said the confident rabbit.

The day of the race arrived and the two animals started off at a brisk pace. After a while, the rabbit reached the halfway point and began to feel tired. He thought to himself, "I've won this race, I'm so fast!" So he decided to take a short nap.

Meanwhile, the tortoise plodded along steadily, never stopping, and continued to inch forward slowly but steadily.

When the rabbit woke up, he looked around and saw the tortoise way ahead of him. Surprised and embarrassed, he quickly jumped up and tried to catch up with the tortoise, but it was too late. The tortoise had already reached the finish line and was celebrating his victory.

The moral of the story is that if you are overconfident and complacent, you could easily lose out to someone who may be slower than you, just because you're not giving yourself enough time to complete the task at hand.
